In Loving Memory of
Mac...
|
With every dog is a story...my husband and I had been dating for a year and he really wanted to get a full breed Rott. I was hesitant because I did not want him to eat our first born child (when we had one) or any guests that came to visit. I had never had my very own dog, I had been raised with dogs that my mother had always made sure I helped with but as most of us know, when they become our full responsiblibty as an adult, a diferent attachment occurs. So, we go look at puppies, pick out a German Rott and have to name him something with a Sir because of his papers and so the story begins, Sir Big Mac Daddy!! He was a wonderful dog. Playful, cuddly, a very large lap dog, obediant (most of the time), just awesome! A year after we had him, he seemed lonely and required so much attention and we were both working so we got a Rott mix puppy for entertainment. Mac was so good with him. Mac was 4 times the size of Nico but so gentle. Mac would lay on his back and let Nico chew his neck. Years pass, babies come, 2 of them. Mac and Nico are so good with the kids. I am pregnant with our 3rd, our son is now four years old. Mac starts getting sick. We take him to the vet and receive the dreaded call with lab results, it's cancer. No options available except wait...I sleep on the floor a few nights with Mac and he gets worse. My husband says it is time. We take him to the vet and they were so kind. We put Mac on the table and I just looked into his eyes and praised him for being the best compainion a family could ever have. I have pictures throughout our home so my kids will never forget. It was one of the hardest days of my life yet I would not change a thing! It has been four years and I still sit at the computer today, hysterical at the memory of our beloved Sir Big Mac Daddy. Thank you God for blessing my family with Mac!!
