pawprintAnimals in Need
Hi my name is Dozer. My brother Kane and I were supposed to be put sleep October 8th, but a Paws & Prayers lady showed up and rescued us. We are both up for adoption. We are 6 years old and have never been apart before. Our owners had some bad luck, a divorce and then one of them went to jail ! We spent 3 months in the basement before our family took to us to the pound, that's where we spent the last month. I am sad I am not with my brother, but he is with another foster so I know he's finally sleeping on a nice warm couch too ! I got to go home with my foster mom and meet my 2yr old foster sister. I love when my foster mom rubs my belly and I give her kisses to say thank you. When my foster mom got me home she noticed that my paw is floppy, she didn't know that I hurt it when I was a puppy and my owners didn't get it fixed, my muscles were damaged so she took me to the vet to see what was wrong. The vet took x-rays and said I have cancer in my toe, it hasn't spread anywhere and I need to have surgery to make sure it doesn't spread. I can't wait for the cute retriever that lives upstairs to see my bandages    Spot aka Petey was a sad little pup pulled from Summit pound. He had parvo and kennel cough, but is now a fully recovered, playful, happy pup who is going to his forever home soon. Please help us to save more pups like Petey by making a donation toward their expensive medical care in order to give them a chance at the life they deserve. Thank you so much for your continued help and support on behalf of these neglected animals!

Pocahontas is a puppy that was born into our rescue. At 6 months old we found out that she only had 6 months left to live without surgical intervention! She had already spent half of her life! She had what was called PDA which is where the blood vessels don't close properly in the fetal stages and pump blood into the lungs, straining the heart. 60% of dogs die within the first year of diagnosis. Between her visit to the heart doctor, the ehco-cardiogram, surgery and follow up appointments, this beautiful girl has really raked up the vet bills. She is very worth it! Please help us by making a donation so we can continue to save the lives of cats and dogs, just like little Pokie. :)     Help us to pull a dog from the Summit County Pound and help him or her to find a new home! Each $76 raised allows us to pay the fee to pull a dog.
Saps is a wonderful playful kitten that was born with Paws and Prayers. She had a small hernia. The week before her spay she was playing like a normal kitten does and her abdominal wall tore open. She needed emergency surgery to prevent further damage to organs and such. Now she is just as happy go lucky and playful as ever!    Jack Jack was dumped outside after his owner moved away and left outside in the cold. He had also been declawed so he had no protection. Paws and Prayers took him in and had to do a dental on him. He had to have many extractions. He is a wonderful cat and doing great.
When we pulled Mamma Caddie she seemed fine. The day we got her to our office she started having a massive seizure in her carrier. We took her immediately to the vet and had blood work and done. She now has to take medication for the rest of her life but this doesn’t stop her for being a wonderful family pet.
