Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Paws and Prayers Pet Rescue! Our volunteers help us provide the best care to our animals, create a friendly atmosphere at events, and help us help the community. We are glad that you have considered giving your time and talent to the care and socialization of orphaned pets and to helping generate awareness for our causes. We need volunteers in several capacities. Please read on below to find a volunteer opportunity you are interested in and please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org when you are ready to get started!
General Volunteer Requirements
- Paws and Prayers volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian while performing service hours.
- All volunteers are required to sign a release form and complete training for the position you are interested in.
- Volunteers are welcomed when they are available, but we do ask that you work with a coordinator to set a schedule so that we know the animals always get attention when needed.
- If you are unable to be accompanied by an adult or commit to a schedule, we can work with you to do projects from home on your own time. See below for position-specific requirements.
- Be a FOSTER
Foster parents are volunteers that help us save lives! As a foster, you are the most important leg of delivering animals to their forever homes. Our fosters are matched with a foster pet that best suits their lifestyle (you are never asked to foster an animal you are not involved in choosing) and see the animal through to adoption by processing applications and selecting his or her forever home. We cover all expenses. Please apply today if you are interested in fostering!
- Be a HEADQUARTERS SPECIALIST
HQ specialists assist with making our felines and canines truly happy! Routine care and socialization of office animals is in need! Other times, the office needs help being kept organized and cleaned. Administrative help is needed occasionally. We have morning and evening shifts available every day of the week that need filled as you are comfortable. We ask that our volunteers are able to commit to one shift a week.
- Be an EVENT ATTENDANT
Event attendants help us in several ways; often times, we need help getting animals to adoption events (and holding them while at the event), setting up tables, or speaking with the public all to generate more exposure. This position functions on an as-needed basis.
- Be a TRANSPORTER
Often times, we need help transporting animals. Sometimes, animals need transported to the vet, other times, we need assistance transporting them from an animal control facility to our rescue. Transporters literally save lives! Proof of valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance required.
- Be a FUNDRAISER VOLUNTEER
Our organization relies on donations and fundraising! Get involved with our fundraising committee to help plan, brainstorm and execute fundraisers! There is something for everyone here!
- Be DONE IN A DAY
If you are part of a large group or do not have the availability to be a regular volunteer, we have projects designed for you! Whether you want to volunteer at a distance (at home, with a school group, etc.) or just in a day, there are several special projects with your name on it!
Do you have special skills?
Paws and Prayers is always seeking out individuals with special skills who would like to volunteer. Are you a dog trainer, photographer, marketing guru, graphic designer or grant-writer? Do you have connections with area businesses? Do you have other special talents that would help us grow in the community? If you do, please share them! E-mail us at email@example.com and let us know how you would like to help!
